Ps2/Screen Q

Post by drjeffreys » Thu Apr 12, 2007 10:38 pm

So i recently put a screen in my car.. threw a ps2 in there. wired up the inverter n so on.. i took the video coming from the ps2 and ran it to the screen, i took the audio from the ps2 and ran it straight to the AUX on my deck. when the ps2 is on.. and only when my deck is on AUX.. i hear this annoying buzzing.. also .. interference from the alternator.. ive read up on it and they say the inverter is not grounded.. or its too close to speakers bla bla.. but something confuses me. When i unplug the video from the screen.. the buzzing goes away.. also i notice when i play with the cable coming from the back of the ps2.. the buzzing sometimes completely dissapears.. ive pulled out all the wires trying to rule out interference n now im just stumped.. any ideas?

power for both is coming from the fuse box.. ground is going to a ground behind center console near firewall.. the inverter and moniter are sharing a line... but i mean... the noise is there even if the moniter is off and just the inverter is on.. and i cant figure out why the buzzing goes away once the video coming from the ps2 is unplugged from the moniter...

is the power 12v constant, or 12v switched coming from the fuse box? if constant 12v, run it to the battery! If switched, run it to the red wire on the back of the cig lighter or the 12v switched on the stereo itself.

Also, if inverter is on and you get a buzz while screen is off, then the problem lies within the inverter. I would assume since both are hooked to the same power supply, change the power supply.
