Neon under lights for $20!!

Post by Steaks » Wed Apr 13, 2005 6:38 pm

I am thinking of getting myself a set of under the car lights that are red from a VERY GOOD friend. They are normally like $150 new but he is giving them to me for $20 which I know they are in good condition and will work fine for the car. Wondering if you guys think Neon lights are to Ricer or think it will help make the car look good. Remember I have a Black 1Gen R/T

I USED to have neons when I first got my R/T and I'll tell you they get old fast and you'll find yourself not turning them on at all half the time b/c you stick out like a sore thumb. IMO, save your money, for me it ended up be a total waste of money.

I agree with Diablo. I had neon lights inside my car a long time ago, got sick of them real quick, sold them for half of what I paid.

Like Flolyd said some do and some don't.. In ALBQ there is a neon every place you look.. Some people think its ricey but if it set you off from every other Neon out there, I say go for it. I glow and I turn them on when I'm in a crusing mood.. There is a set of LEDs I found and will buy really soon here to replace my neons I have now. I have cathodes in the car. As long as they can't be seen and only the glow shows, i don't consider them ricey.. Double check you laws in your are and make sure that color doesn't get you a stupid ass ticket. I haven't been pulled over by the police "Yet".. (Knocks on wood...)

The law is the car may not have neon lights on when the "car is in motion" but "not in motion" they can be.

So I am so getting them. Because I am getting red underbody and also little leds for the headlights for only $20

might have to get more lights from there but right now I think the undercar and headlights should be enough. I think I might not do more then that cause I like the sleak look but with a little light so should be cool looking. I have no real GOOD income so mods comes few and far between but I am still SLOWLY working on getting my CAI. Kinda had other stuff come up like school that I had to pay for so that kinda made it hard to buy anything but when a good deal comes along you can't say no.

I have/had them. I unhooked mine cause my dealer was giving me a huge hassle out the ass about them. Still on the car, but I have not turned them on for like 7 months now(no more switch anyways). Its nice cause every one that knows jack shit about cars thinks they looks so damn cool and always wanted me to turn them on, but people who think they know stuff or know stuff about cars call them rice. I think they look cool on a car with out a kit, but once you get a kit and mod it all out, they look bad.

Hey. I'm the owner of the site Floyd posted above.

In regard to EuroEffects, I think you should reconsider. You will not be happy with the product.

Here are a few topics about the company EuroEffects on my forum:

http://www.oznium.com/forum/topic5453
http://www.oznium.com/forum/topic4873
http://www.oznium.com/forum/topic4500

Basically, EuroEffects kits are complete crap. They are worse quality than the cheapest, ugliest kits you will find on eBay, if that's even possible. They steal photos from Iceled, a highly regarded manufactuer of LED lighting. They do not take any actual photos of the glow from their kits because their kits are pathetic.

I am sure Floyd will agree with me here. Stay away from EuroEffects. You'll be glad you did.

Sometimes its the camera that makes them brighter than what they are.

Assuming that those are LED's (because of the color changing), I'd be willing to bet they're that bright. I have a LED kit on my car, in single color red (because I got my kit like 4 years ago when the LEDs first came out) and they are outrageously bright. I spent the extra money and purchased the kit from Varad in which you can also adjust the brightness. The kit's awesome and I run it about half the brightness to keep the law a little happier.

Guys I have ordered from OZNIUM as well, and Phil has some great service and AMAZING product. I recommend him to anyone our there!

Also I have seen Jdusty's car in PERSON and HOLY COW! The job the neons do, not only the underbody, but the cathodes inside are amazing. Easily the best, brightest, most vibrant kit I have ever seen. And the cathodes for the interior are awesome as well. Just to give you an idea....when I saw jdusty's in person at night for the first time, it only took me a couple weeks to order my interior up. GREAT GREAT stuff at amazing prices.

Thanks Phil
