anyway to fix this or am i screwed

Post by racer12306 » Thu Apr 19, 2007 2:36 pm

Some of you may know that I recent bought a spare tire cover back on March 18th from ebay. It took about 3 - 4 weeks for me to receive the item. I emailed the seller twice asking about an update, once on 3/30/07 and again on 4/3/07, both received no response from the seller. In the message on 4/3 I gave a deadline of 4/25 before the transaction would be reported to ebay. I received the cover later that week.

I left negative feedback for the seller because of the poor communication and the slow shipping time. It came UPS ground, I know it doesn't take that long to get from CA to MD.

I checked eBay today to see if I have received any feedback. Turns out the guy left me a negative feedback, with comments, "Thanks.... same to you!!!" Needless to say I was a little peeved. I sent him this message...
My Message to the Seller wrote:Just because I left you negative doesn't mean you need to leave me negative. I tried contacting you a couple of times about the order so that I knew what was going on. You NEVER responded. I paid immediatly following the auction, therefore I should not recieve poor feedback. The auction ended at 19:08 PDT, I sent you paypal at 19:16 PDT. 8 minutes, thats pretty darn fast. Please explain to me your resoning for leaving me negative feedback.

Frank
Any thoughts?

edit: Yes, I just realized I spelled reasoning wrong, I thought it looked wrong when I wrote it. :banghead:

also, I just realized that I never checked the shipping date on the box. I will make sure that I do that this weekend, but like I said above, I know it doesnt take 3 weeks to send a box from CA to MD.

I don't have a full size spare yet, so I don't have the cover in yet. MAYBE I'll put it in this weekend.

It will be Carlisle before I get a full size spare.

you both can mutaully agree to remove the negative feedback...

imo you shouldn't of left him a negative...should of been a nuetral...you got your item, yes i know it took forever. but you got it and obviously i'm sure the quality was ok. So nuetral would have been better for this situation.

also if your gonna leave a person a negative feedback. I think you have i think 45 days to leave a feedback. On the 44 days with like an hour to go i'd leave the negative. So that way he can't screw you over, b/c he probably won't post his feedback in time for the 45 day limit or w/e the limit is.

that's one major thing i hate about ebay....in the rules it states as a seller when you receive the payment you're suspose to leave feedback (aka - Thanks for fast payment!!) and then when the buyer receives the product he is then suspose to leave feedback( aka - product was great!) and then that reduces the retaliation feedback....

you can go into your feedback and make a comment on his negative saying something like (retaliation feedback) so then future buyers or sellers won't be scared to buy or sell from you

This is why the E-bay feedback system sucks. I've never left feedback -- except for someone who was already banned. I've had several deadbeat buyers who didn't pay, but I've never left them Negative feedback. REASON: "there's nothing stopping them from doing the same!". I always file disputes when I don't get paid, because that's to only way to recoup my seller's fees.

I think you can file a dispute for Feedback as well. This would be a good thing for you to explore.

Good tip on the 45 day limit, but the I would go and forget about it

Maybe I should have left a neutral.

Do you know how to mutually agree to remove feedbacks. This one kind of hurts me because I don't use ebay that much so I only have 31 transactions and this brings me down a bit.

go into ebay search or help or whatever and type in feedback mutually agree or something...i'm sure it will pop up...and then when you agree it will send him something then he has to agree....and then when it does....the - will no longer hurt you...but the feedback still stands in your record

I had something kind of similar happen to me a few years ago on ebay. My mom used to collect barbie dolls, you know the special edition christmas ones and stuff and i sold one on ebay for her. The seller claimed she sent a money order, which i never got, and she even checked and saw it was never cashed and left me negative feedback. I filed a claim w/ ebay and she agreed to remove the feedback, and i never had to payback her money, because they proved i never had the mo and it never got cashed. Just lost in the mail w/ our great postal service

so I have 100% feedback on there :)

I submitted the Request to mutally agree to remove feedback, but im going to doubt he will agree to it. i dont think he checks his email or something like that.

i took a look at the box and it said that it was shipped on 3/30, 12 days after the end of auction and my payment.
