Mesh Grill

Post by 2001Neon_LX » Sat Apr 21, 2007 1:10 pm

I have bought a couple pieces, like 5 sheets of gutter guard for my grill on my 2001 Neon, i was just wondering how you guys went about fastening the mesh to the car?

Hot glue, duct tape, some rubber bands...

No seriously, I got some super heavy duty adhesive (can't remember what it was but it was outdoor super strong stuff!) and some paper clips.
1) Removed front bumper
2) Unbent the clips and glued to inside of bumper openings at strategic places and let dry for a few hours.
3) Cut grill to shape with enough overhang for clips to attach to
4) Bend clips up to hold mesh in place

You can put a drop of glue on the spot where you clipped the mesh but if you want to take it off to clean or change out its just that much more work.

That's what I did, hope this helps!

Horsepower is how fast you're going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you drag the wall with you.

Back in the day...I used zip ties...LOL but i only needed them in a couple of places and they were black so they blended in pretty well.

Mines bolted straight to the frame in fron the of the radiator, and uses the factory bolt locations up top. A few zip ties as well, but theyre strategically located and blend in well. Its all a custom deal, so do what u think works best and try out different ideas.
