fuck, I used to use mother's alloy wheel polish religously and get it on my fingers everytime. I've never seen 'wheel acid' on the shelves before.

EWWW... Good info, I'll be sure to wear rubber gloves and a resperator next time :lol:... ok not that much but I will take some percautions.

And, acid based wheel cleaners are HORRIBLE for wheel clear coats, and will deminish the surface quality on bare polished metals over time. Sure theyre faster in the here and the now, but if you want the finish on your wheels to last, soap and water is the way to go.

Only thing Ive ever used acid based cleaners on, are rough cast aluminum wheels (the old "mags" that were popular in the 70s mostly).

I figured it was good info....it also expalins the tingling in my trigger finger, acid drips from the nozzle and lands on trigger...its not the acid you have to worry about its the byproduct of the acid like the chemist stated.
