I saw the how to section about the rear springs, but is it generally the same for the front? or will u just have to take out the whole shock tower? or use spring compressors?

yeah the fronts have more pressure on them then the rears so its a good idea to have a spring compressor... i used an impact gun and stood as far away as i could when i did the center bolt just to see how far the spring and stuff would fly. it was mildly entertaining... i guess but yeah you will either need a spring compressor for the fronts or be really strong or heavy to compress them enough to get that center bolt in.

3 bolts in the top and the two big bolts on the control arm... hell i forgot what its called... pitman yeah whatever you will know what im talking about. and it comes right out. then pop that center bolt off with the use of a compressor... dont do what i did, not safe... and your stuff will come apart like butter!

good luck

The poor mans alternative to a spring compressor: Put the strut assembly between two tires and undo the top nut.

no offense (you know I have much love) but you all are nucking futs! Make sure you get a spring compressor from autozone, where ever - most auto parts stores rent em for "free" (deposit, refundable when returned), and do it right. You can take off the tire in the front, and then "BREAK FREE" the top nut, and then remove the entire strut/spring assembly, compress the spring, remove top nut, take off strut from spring, done. EASY. Time consuming, and you get a good workout on your forearems if you have to use a ratchet to tighten compressor ().

haha this is how i do it whenever i remove springs. works great if you are using an air gun, and as long as you know what you are doing. pretty easy to do though and works real fast. just got to be kind of careful.
