Aftermarket SRT/4 exhaust manifold

Post by Arro » Fri Apr 27, 2007 2:55 pm

Is there an aftermarket exhaust manifold out there that has a simple standard T3 flange? I don't want to start with the Chrysler manifold and it's integrated exhaust housing. I want choice!

Hahn Racecraft. pretty sure they use a standard T3 flange....yes, even though the 16g is a Mitsu.

I know all about 16G's and Mitsus, remember I was very involved in DSM's and owned a 1G turbo ;) DIDN'T know that the SRT/4's turbo was a 16G.

Ok lemme ask you how big is the stock integrated exhaust housing? I know Mitsus are measured in cm's.

In the DSM world we talked about small 16G and Big 16G... has to do with both compressor wheel differences/compress housings, as well as exhaust turbines and housings.

Dont feel like looking up the info, but this is the Turbo the SRT-4 uses:

TD04 if I remember correctly is the characteristic for a SMALL 16G, and TD05 is the larger turbine side.

The "LR" may have something to do with the fact that it's integrated into the manifold....

The "K" has something to do with the exducer on the compressor wheel, but I don't know what... probably ust a more modern design for better airflow.

So then yes, I need a different manifold. I'd like one with a Mitsu flange on it, actually, so I can run a Big16G w/ TD05 turbine and larger accompanying housing.

I think the LR has something to do with the rotation of the turbo.

From wikipedia:

"The turbocharger was a reverse rotation Mitsubishi TD04LR-16Gk with a 6 cm² turbine inlet."
