Any recommendations on brand/style?
Wouldn't mind something with a functional vent to reduce underhood temps, but not thrilled with the general availability and fit of SRT replica CF hoods.
Anybody know of any vented/scoop hoods designed on the regular non-SRT Neon hood (to fit properly with an 01 R/T style fascia)?
Otherwise brand recommendations for standard non-SRT oem replacement in CF?
Cf hood recommendation for 01 R/T?

thanks
I know how the search function works, but I was hoping for more personal reviews, or specific opinions of a particular style hood that you might not hear from general reviews, picture posts.
Actually I really haven't heard good things about JSP products and not much at all about Kaminari. Maybe been on the SRTForums too much..
(just checked Kaminari, not digging the extra wide scoop, or the set back scoop hoods and didn't see a regular flat hood.)
Also of course possibility there's a new hood out that I haven't even heard of..?
I definitely won't be going with CBD. Was NOT at all happy with the quality of a trunklid I purchased from them.

What Lambo was getting at with the search comment was that this has been covered with persoanl opinions and reviews multiple times. In fact, about 10 posts below this one there is this exact same topic from just a few days ago.
As far as the Kaminari, they do have a OEM hood. Diablo0 (site admin) has one. I believe in the other post Lambo mentioned that to get the OEM you have to call Kaminari, they don't list it on their site.
Personally I've never had problems with CBD. I had alot of their stuff on my neon, including a trunk, and it was all great quality.

was your trunk finished inside?

Mine definitely wasn't. Actually still cleaning up that lid, hoping to get it in place this season. Wasn't planning to have to do the hood this soon, but spotted my first rust bubble today. WNY sucks.
Let me try to restart this thread. Not looking for recommendations on quality/what to purchase, more recommendations on style hood that would look good on specifically an 01/02 R/T.
Like for example other than an OEM flat hood, are there any aftermarket hoods with near OEM fit (particularly around the headlights and on the nose) with specifically an 01/02 R/T front end?
The Kaminari hoods I've never seen with anything other than their front fascias, and I've seen too many OEM/CF OEM style SRT hoods on R/Ts with poor fit around the headlights and a bad fit over the grill.

What do you mean by "finished" on the inside.
I'm assuming you don't have a body kit and this hood will be going on a stock looking car?
In that case I would say either OEM or OEM SRT. There aren't too many other hoods that would look decent on a stock looking car. Then again that is all personal opinion.

Seriously, search, this topic has been covered numerous times, and fairly recently.
The reason SRT hoods don't look like they fit an 00-02, is because they were made for the SRT, the hood is 1/2" shorter in the nose.
Kaminari has several things that aren't on thier website, and in my personal opinion, the fitment, clarity, and weave are second to none, also, I have had mine for 3 years, still looks new.
As for JSP, I have seen with my own eyes, 6 total hoods and trunks come through my hands (used to sponsor me before Kaminari), and they are now on friends cars, they are up to 4 years old, and they still look new as well. The only downside to the JSP stuff, is that the edges aren't rolled, but when the hood/trunk is closed, you can't tell anyways.
So, you will just have to search pictures and find out what you like.
I hate it when someone says, "so what do you think?", then you tell them, and they say, "oh, I don't like that..."
So why ask??
Just look around.......or SEARCH.
/end rant
