The pole caps of Mars goes through seasonal changes. As the southern cap "melts", the northern one grows. The changes are relatively normal.

And the caps are made of carbon dioxide (CO2); not "ice", more like "dry Ice"

Cool and rainy. It was off-and-on like this last year too, and didn't stop until about mid-June.
