Tire Size Question...
Will a 225/45/17 tire fit a 04 SRT4? My wheels are 17X7.5. I can get a nice set pretty cheap, but it wont do me any good if they wont fit. Thanks

Correction my wheels are only 7 inches, not 7.5 Will this still fit fine? I don't do alot of hard driving in it, usually my wife has it anyway.

Ok, sounds good. Thanks for the input. I figured they would be fine as long as I don't try and corner too hard and all that fun stuff. Thanks again.

to be completely sure, if you go to www.tirerack.com and look up the tire you are interested in, or any 225/45/17 tire. it will tell you what size wheel that tire is supposed to use for safety
edit:
i just went to tire rack and looked up a 225/45/17 tire, and it says that that tire is supposed to be on a 7" - 8.5" wheel, so i would say you are good.
edit:
it shouldnt matter how hard you make a turn.MattD04SRT4 wrote:Ok, sounds good. Thanks for the input. I figured they would be fine as long as I don't try and corner too hard and all that fun stuff. Thanks again.

I would just buy 225/40/17's or 215/45/17's but I am getting a great deal on these from my brother. He only used them for about 600 miles and sold his car, but took off his extra wheels. So I will be getting these for about 50 bucks for all 4. I had heard of some problems with lowered car rubbing in the turns with this wide of a tire with this side wall. I think it will be fine and I cant pass up this deal.

Yeah, NONE of us do that kinda stuff around here!!MattD04SRT4 wrote:I figured they would be fine as long as I don't try and corner too hard and all that fun stuff.

Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you're going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you drag the wall with you.
