Well to each his own... I like edge racing service and prices so I just popped up what 17" would fit on a neon.

The second rim looks good in my opinion. The only problem I have with them is the gap near the bottom of each spoke design as it connects to the rim.

My friend has these on his Silver SRT-4, they look pretty clean in a 17x7" size:

get something that's 17x7.5 so you can fit some 215 tires on there.
People have done it with a low enough profile tire (which looks sick if your car is dropped, but kind of dumb if it's not. )

I am running 215/40-17 on a 17x7 and it fits just fine. That is recommended size for our cars.

I was under the impression that while a 7.5" rim wasn't needed to run a 215/40/17, it was highly reccomended, and that the maximum reccomended width to run with 7" is 205. As in I know it's completely possible but perhaps not as safe. (Tirerack does, by the way, sell 7.5" rims for our cars, and they seem to stick to the reccomended stuff, because the only tire they reccomend for a 17 is 205/40/17. Not that the extra rubber wouldn't be awesome, but they seem to play it safe.)
