Operation Car Sexy :D Update 9/23

Post by 01WhiteNe0n » Sat May 12, 2007 4:53 pm

Well I decided to swap out my 01 bumpers to an 04 front and rear bumpers off of an sxt, These bumpers are currently a dark shade of red and I kinda like the color of them :) My project is to take off my 01 bumpers and replace them with the 04 and then add my lip kit and side skirts but I will have to cut them for a borla exhaust which will be kinda tricky.
With the new bumpers on I will replace with 03+ headlights and Tails Along with some other goodies just to make her perfect. After everything is on I will be repainting the car, I am unsure of the color right now mayb white but you never know becuase im almost in love with this red so you'll have to watch for updates

Things that will be done in this project log:
2004 Bumper Conversion
Install Lip Kit
Install Side Skirts
Carbon Fiber Tails
Blk/Carbon HeadLights
Clear Corners & 3rd Brake
Short Antenna mod
Painted Calipers/Drum
Fresh Paint job
20% tint all around
Start On Interior...
Paint all blk (possibly)
White Accents
New Seats
Guages...

The color looks real bright and almost orange but thats just from the flash, I'm to lazy to go take a different picture :tardbang:

The Headlights, tail lights, corner lights and bulbs should be coming in sometime next week, Going to try to get the calipers and drums done tonight or this weekend.

Well it was a razor blade and sandpaper at 3 a.m The cutouts don't look to bad there almost identical just have to get the exhaust bent to fit.

Gap between what ?

After everything there is a small gap under the headlight but is like 1 cm as well as above the tails, Need to get some weather stripping or something in there and right now I bent my exhaust and it fits alot nicer..
Taking a break from the side mouldings because my fingers hurt from rubbing so much...

Lancaster is pretty far from me =/

Well Everyone thats seen it so far in person thinks the red on white looks sick as I do to myself... my First thought when we bolted up the first one, And if that doesnt work out either blaze red or White.

Words from my uncle.... *Walks in garage*
" your painting this right ?" .... Yes... " You should keep it the way it is, that two tone is sick." And he's into alot of painting cars.

:-k

Okay, so what else are you going to be painting Blaze Red, if you're going with the two-tone. Myself, I'd hope that you're painting something else rather than just having mismatched bumpers.

Update: 6/9/07

Painted rear Bumper... Painted it Pw1 and cleared it.
About 30 mins after the bumper was finished I went back into the garage to get my work stuff from the car and then took a look at the bumper (there was one run on the lip where the exhaust is... Yeah.... Water dripped from the garage door between painting and clearing), Then when i was looking at it WHAT THE SMURFF !!! a 3 inch round moth flopped onto the lip where the exhaust cutouts are and got stuck in the clear or paint... Hopefully it was only the clear only time will tell, It looked kinda messed up but if its only the clear which it should be the wetsand and buff will take it out.
The moth got what it deserved... i used tweezers to grab his wing and pull him off the damn thing was flopping around all over the exhaust part and I flung him ( some how landing into a bucket of oil.. Oooops  unfortunatly he drown in the oil... If he lives somehow and goes on my bumper I will kill myself :slap:

Ran out of hardner so will have to pick up some more in the week at the paint shop. so tomorrow will be this bumper installed and then newxt week the front bumper and side skirts will get painted and installed. Then the wet sand buff and deatail will be after that.

Looking good. Though the area between the muffler would look better black IMO... and without the moth marks. Hehe... you shoulda just clearned the moth, left him right in the paint. That would have been hella funny

I think your's will be the first white + Mopar lip kit I've seen.
