Yay, just put my K&N typhoon in.

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Don't get too smug........I live in Hanford (30 miles south of Fresno), I hydrolocked my engine last year........I had the EXACT SAME INTAKE you do.

By the way, there are supposed to be two brackets that come with the K&N Typhoon, if you didn't get them, I suggest you call K&N.
well i have been through a few areas where it probly would lock up the engine, i grew up in tollhouse (in the sierras), so i know what a puddle looks like if u get my drift.

I dont plan on locking the engine, ill just do as others did, let off the trottle and coast through if need be. But you never know, with my luck i probly will hydro-lock it.

Oh ya, i bought the intake used, so if there was something missing, i dunno, it works, it doesnt shake around, im happy.

there's a tb attachment that only the k&n comes with. i've never actually seen one used and since i've been running an iceman for years without issues i think that the extra mount is a mute point. be thankful that the k&n has a mount at all. the iceman just hangs out there in space. glad to hear that you're happy with the intake. i still say don't sweat the puddle issue.
ooh...there's a glimmer of the dream left!!!

that dry charger doesnt actually do what it says it will do. i go through like....eh...2 inch puddles TOPS depth when rainstorms hit and i have the special nylon casing over my filter..

i still bog sometimes when i hit the puddles. i will wash my car (no fog lights in the srt fog housings) and water will hit filter sometimes, and when i start my car after a car wash it will do the same thing. bog bog bog bog.

yeah...so.
