Car wont start
So last night i had to go pick up my new phone from my girlfriends house, I went out to my car and turned it on and everything was fine...got to her house went inside for about 30 mins..and came back outside and boom...nothing......Alll the lights and my gauge, and gauges in my pod, radar and Radio all turn on...headlights work..yada yada yada...so when i go to crank it..NOTHING..when i say nothing i mean everything but the dome like goes capute...i dont get any whining from the starter trying to kick over no noices in the engine bay from anything trying to start... NOTHING..i checked my battery with a battery tester and its getting good volts...even when my car is in the acc position i get a reading on my volt gauge....I really hope its not the starter..cuz that costs a pretty penny right? sucks cuz im trying to save to go on vacation and now im going to run into more maintenence...any ideas??

Could be the starter relay... if you're not even getting a "click" when you turn the key, then your starter relay isn't energizing.
I'd check all the fueses too.
If you verify you're getting voltage to the starter and still nothing is turning, then yeah, the starter may be shot.
It sounds more like you're not getting power to the starter though.

All your relays are in the "power distribution center" which is directly above the driver's side fender in the engine bay. When you pop the cover off, there is a legend printed on the underside of it, so you can see which relay does what...
All the main fueses are right there too.

take these steps to make sure whats going on.
under the hood you have a area where you got some fuses and relays, if your horn works take that relay and replace it with the starter relay.
if it still dosent start check all the fuses in there, i beleve the ignition fuse is a 40amp and its pink.
if it still dosent start see if your battery terminals are tight and there isnt any crap on them. and the ground wire is tightly screwed onto the chasis
next check if your bettery is good
next check if the starter relay clicks when you turn the key to start it
if all of that failed, and your engine dosent crank at all... then yea its your starter that went bad
this isnt a good list as far as order, but its listed form most to lest common problems

even checking all this if the stupid starter safety switch (clutch on MTX, neutral or park on ATX) went bad it'll still do nothing. or you may have broken the ignition (the key cylinder) that ones a longshot but i've done it before....Craz1000 wrote:take these steps to make sure whats going on.

I had this SAME problem on my car. Everytime I would try to turn the car over, NOTHING. Nothing would turn on. I found out that the starter BUS fuse kept blowing every time I would replace it and try to crank the car over. Ouch, $3 a peice. I too thought my starter went out, but I took it off the car and had it tested and it worked fine. A buddy came up to my car, before I attempted to crank it over with my last fuze, and started to giggle the wires going to the starter. And to my amazment, the car started. I rapped all the wires that are connected to the starter with electrical tape and I never had the problem again. I hope this helps you out.
