Cluster problem

I have a Cluster from a R/T that i wanna swap into my 03 sxt, i tossed it in the otherday to check the mileage on it, then turned the car on. well, the Brake light, stays lit when the ebrake is down all the way. Anyone know if its jsut one of those cluster things or something else?

(ive been gone forever i know, i still troll, and im lazy and dont feel like searching through the many many posts i have missed)

you got abs brakes? if the cluster came from a car that did, and you dont, then it will stay lit.. just pull the bulb.

same deal for sentry to non sentry.. i think that one is the red dot in the upper corner, i had that on mine wheni swapped in my tach cluster.. i just pulled the bulb...

dont know if it had abs or not... i might just sell the cluster... not sure yet

Do YOU have ABS? Probably not, but the cluster from the RT deffinately came with ABS. That is why the brake light is on.

Do a search on the SRT cluster install, its probably the same issue....

Yeah... I'm solving the little things from my SRT swap and took the ABS light out b/c I don't have ABS but the brake light in the cluster is remaining on... I checked all connections and they are good, so the only thing I guess it could be is the ABS.

Guess i have one more light to take out...

i don't know about neons, but the other cars i've owned that had ABS had their own ABS idiot light, it wasn't attached to the parking brake light. my srt cluster has the brake light on (in an '05 sxt), i just ignore it, i know if my brake's really on i'll get a "hey dumbass" ding. one of these days, i'll end up spraying my dash either black or factory ps2, when i do that, i'll pull the light.

everyone who swaps an srt cluster into a neon has the same issues as well.. its the emergency brake light.. it thinks you have it on, because the pinouts for 00-02 clusters, and 03-05 clusters, vary slightly.. check the fsm's you'll see what i mean.. i just pulled the bulb out, as i dont need a light, to know when my e-brake is on, lol its pretty obvious..

Couldn't one just rewire the plug to match the 03+ plug to the -02 wire?
