Exhaust w/ lip kit

Post by Nutmeg » Wed May 23, 2007 7:10 pm

I've been considering getting the Vibrant dual exhaust lately, mainly because I don't have the money to throw at a Borla. The only bad thing I heard about it was that it sits really low. I'm going to probably be ordering a Mopar lip kit soon, so would the exhuast not look as bad with the rear bumper attachment?

I saw it on an '03 (I think) in Temecula, the other night, didn't look too low to me. Might be different for an earlier 2Gn. But you're an '05, so I wouldn't think it would be that bad.

I currently have the vibrant exhaust on as well and I don't think it sits too low...
Check it out in my profile and don't mind the 'dual' dual tips.

or here....

That was before I raised it up with some hose clamps to tighten up the rubber mounts. Tucks in about 3/4" more. Lip kit would help take up some room as well.

FYI: My Vibrant is for sale too

You could also look into the TruBendz exhaust. It is very close to the magnaflow setup that I am running and it works very well with the lip kit. Here is a pic that I posted in another thread to give you an idea:

Wow, actually the only way I'd buy that exhaust (or the Vibrant) would be if I had the lip kit installed because it hides that muffler nicely!

lol that's funny to me, because I want the muffler to show... why else would I want a polished can?

What I like about the lip kit is that without it, the tips look like they stick out. With the exception of the R/T and SRT, dual tips comming out the back look like they don't belong, since the rear is tapered inward. I haven't seen a tip setup yet that goes with the non-cutout rear nicely (except this with the lip kit).

Hey Bigjosh, I'm driving a NV neon, too... next time I go up there, I'll let you know in advance, as I'd like to see your car up close.

I think the best car with a dual tip muffler that looks the best so far is deffinately the Nissan 350Z. :D AWESOME... plus, it is nice and shiny and has big, but not too big, tips.

That's cool, let me know when. Hopefully by that time I'll have my new ported/polished mag head installed....

Neither. It is custom exhaust that I went to an exhaust shop around town to get done. It has a magnaflow muffler and 4inch magnaflow tips. I was saying that the TruBendz looks very close to what I have and I think they substitute tips, so you could practically get the same setup that I have. Even the fitment is pretty close to my setup before the lip (you can check out the pics in my gallery)

I would have ordered the TruBendz, had I seen it BEFORE I went to the exhaust shop.

Yeah, I looked at the Trubendz, and they throw on a Magnaflow tip. Looks fairly nic .How's the sound on yours? And four inch tips for a dual?
