Need Help: DVD/Video Game System problems!

Post by DJ KoZoTo » Thu May 24, 2007 8:38 am

Well I am just stumpted at whats wrong, so I need your guys help!

Well I have a Pioneeer AVH-P5700DVD (no brain box) and I was trying to hook up my wii (a little project im doing). So I hooked up my inverter to the battery and grounded it to a ground by the deck, then I hooked up the wii.
I turn it on,
SUCCESS,
or so I thought. I get feedback, both video and audio...

can someone help me get rid of this problem

hmm...disconnect everything and reconnect...i know it sucks to have to do, but sometimes it works, try a different ground also and use decent cables for EVERYTHING!!! that is the one thing to not get the el cheapo deluxes for...doesnt have to be "monster" quality/insanely priced stuff, but nothing from the dollar store or walmart either...go with radioshack, thats where I get alot of my cable from

explain the feedback exactly, theres different types of feedback for different problems, but MOST of them are because of a bad ground path

well here is the whole troubleshooting story. there is basicly 1 line traveling down the scrren at a time, and there is a small buzzing sound. after the problem started i first took an extension cord from inside my place and tried it, no distortion. then i turned the inverter on and used the house plug power source...and no distortion...then i tried it again plugged in the inverter, and distortion....boo!

the buzz sound is definietly a ground issue...the line down the screen...eh that sounds like a totally different problem..not sure how to fix that one

for whatever reason almost every single inverter i used when i was installing for a living caused feedback like that... most of the inverters came with filters you could wire up to the power/ground wires to prevent it though.... if yours didn't come w/ it i'd look into getting one of those filters

bad ground!

reground all the wires with thickier ground, even the head unit and inverter.
