The long anticipated 19x8 Katana ZR5's wrapped in 215/35/19 Falken Azenis S115, stretched to there fullest, are finally here and now installed.

These are some quick pics i took at dusk, so the quality is sub par. They are all ready littered with pollen, and the car is dirty as fack. But i thought i'd post a couple pics anyways for those that have been waiting to see them for so long now.

The car isn't lowered all the way, obviously. Its sitting at 45 psi. I will be getting my rear fenders rolled this week, in order to tuck these wide assed bitches.

I will be in a show next weekend, so i plan to have more pics of her all cleaned up, and fully slammed.

Needs wider rubber IMO. Otherwise, looks great! Great color combo.

Your car looks so badass. How's the ride, is it hard or comfy? I've never been in a bagged car before.

I agree to some extent. I love the look of stretch rubber, but a wider tire would look good to. I was leaning towards a 225/35 tire, but i was concerned with clearance. Now that i have these installed, it might have been possible to get away with it, but i'd probably have to put spacers on, thus preventing me from tucking the rims.

The ride is soley on how you tune it. You can ride low, or high, stiff or soft. Its the best of all worlds.
silentneon01 wrote:I love your neon.

I'm not running on any spacers, however i do have 5mm spacers on order. I had to grind a notch in the trailing arms, in order to ride lower then 80psi. So i might end up using the spacers after i get the fenders rolled.

I'm definetely happy with the wheel choice, considering how hard it was to find 19's to fit, and in the style i liked, and that weren't backordered for 6 weeks. I'm especially loving the 3 inch lip, although its hard to see sometimes because of how the face of the spokes are made.

I figured a lot of people wouldn't like the stretch look, oh well, I've always liked that "euro" look. Lets just hope the sidewalls hold up :crossedfingers:

Wow, that looks pretty awesome. Stretched sidewalls are cool in my book too. I thought maybe you were going to get those new Heatsink's from Konig, but I like these way better. Good show, chap! 8)

1. Fronts fit like a glove, the rears, not so much. I am running a 45mm offset, with an 8" wide rim. You are best to find a wheel with a 40mm offset, and a 7.5" rim. The reason why i got these wheeels, is because they are the ones i like the most, and i wanted a wider rim. However finding the same style in a lower offset, was non existant.

What amazed me, is how much clearance the air struts allow for these things. I can fit my fingers inbetween the rear stut and the wheel, and the fronts i can fit my pinky in between.

2. I used an angle grinder on the trailing arm. I marked the points where it was rubbing, and grinded a bit away at time. I took about 5mm off, and it still hits it below 40psi. Hence why i'm waiting on my spacers, to hopefully solve the problem, because i don't want to grind any more off. I'm in the process of pricing out some SRT Rear Knuckles, because they supposidly made in a way that moves the trailing arm in more, to allow a wider rim.

On a side note, i noted to have quite a bit of woble on my my right rear wheel, i couldn't tell if it was the wheel, or the drum. But regarldless, if it didn't wobble, there wouldn't be as much rubbing, if any.

3. There are a couple ways of rolling the fenders. Get it done at a show that has experience in rolling fenders, or rent a roller and DIY. OR do the baseball bat method. I may be doing the baseball bat trick, just because i live so far from the city, and i might not have the time to take it in before the show this sat.

4. Thankyou, i hope your loins can handle the sexiness.

Ditto. You could prolly fit some 195s on those btw.

And: I don't think you should worry about the sidewalls at all. The VW guys and the Miata/240 guys rock em as dailys.... no probs that I have known of. Obviously don't hit big holes. lol.

Do you have any idea how off your speedo is? I've never got a definitive answer from any of the Miata guys as to how much the stretch reduces the outside diameter of the tire. I assume because no one knows/knows how to figure it out.

 Looks good!!

No, i don't get any vibration when driving, aside from it pulling to the left on me, but i'm getting them aligned on thursday, to fix that.

What i mean, is that with the car jacked up, if i turn the wheel, i can visually see the wheel wobble. Would that mean my drum is warped?

have you retorqued the lugnuts since you put them on? it's not hard to spot a wobble's cause.....just start checking everything...youll eventually find out where its wobbling.....

If you can direct me to someone selling me everything i need for the swap, then i'd be all over it, but i'm not one to go to the wreckers and do it myself, as there isn't one around for miles, let alone one that would have what i need.
