Cat-delete and SAFC wiring?
Cat-delete and SAFC wiring?
I've got two questions...
#1) I remember a while ago you could buy a cat-delete pipe on Ebay for our cars, and someone used a plug fouler or something to defeat the CEL, did it ever work properly?
#2) I want to wire up an SAFC in my car, I've got a spare SAFC laying around and i just wanna throw it in the car. Anyone got a wiring diagram for a 2001 R/T to wire that thing in?

Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you're going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you drag the wall with you.
this is the best solution to your no cat issue.

Reason I asked is for my Civic. It is the only code that keeps popping up and I want to get it done "right". What did you have to drill out? You mean use 2 plugs, one drilled and one not like in the write-up, for the Civic?Ballsdeep1 wrote:I was able to do what they did, but I didn't need to drill. The o2 fit fine in one of the non-foulers and I was on my way, no codes for the last 2 months. My buddies civic I had to drill it out to make it fit, but not on the neon.

you just need the wiring diagram for the ecu and the one for the safc. The safc ones are probably on Apexi's website, and the neon ones are probably on the internet if you look around, I think there is even a website that has a whole bunch of service manuals. Other than that, you are just going to be tapping/splicing wires, so how to install it isn't that bad, it's which wires. I know the srt-4's need a tach output signal, and since we don't have one, gotta buy one. I wouldn't be suprised if you needed one too.

Thanks for that.Ballsdeep1 wrote:you just need the wiring diagram for the ecu and the one for the safc. Usually, someone has already done it on the car in question and has a diagram/how-to on it. Since I can't find one, I thought I'd post hte question.
I can find one for the 95-99 Neon pretty easy, however, finding a wiring diagram for the 2k1 R/T isn't that easy.

Stickied at the top of the TUning/Megasquirt Forum, which is what you are doing, Tuning... a QUICK search would have yeilded results.
I also know you said RT, but all neon wiring is same.
Funny thing is, I decided to read to the bottom and noticed you posted in it

SAFC wiring in the link posted above....
Also note, im installing the SAFC myself too, there is one major notation all over the internet though. DO NOT hook up the wire to the O2 sensor, the apex unit screws up the readings to the pcm by taping into that, especially if you already have an A/F gauge installed. Wether or not its true, its highly recomended all over the net that we dont use that wire(I've been reading about it for the past 4 days)
Check into the link about the wiring posted above, im going to post findings in that topic
