New struts/springs and Mopar STS installed

Post by supertrick_05 » Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:11 pm

Ok people...I finally got my license back, so I took my baby out of hibernation. Thursday I installed my Mopar STS...WOW! Nice unit! The throws are shorter and firmer (thanks to the boogers) and it just feels much nicer! Here's a few pics...

And lastnight, my friend and I installed my new Tokico HP struts and Kazera StreetSport springs. I gotta say, I like how it evened the wheel gap, but I'm REALLY hoping that it settles and gets lower than it is...I've seen a guy on here with the same springs on and it's much lower than mine. I'm sure since my stuff was all brand-new, it has it's break-in period. Anyways, here's the results of them.

Here's a picture of the other car with the same springs. Looks a lot lower than mine...

The ride is SUPERB! It's a smooth ride and doesnt bounce or anything. Cornering is crisp and smooth as well...wish it was a bit more stiff, but that will get better when I get my welfare sways. Install was a BITCH because the alignment from the last install didnt want to cooperate and everything was SO hard to fit in place, but I'm sure if we swapped stock suspension to this, it would have been cake. All in all, I am very happy with it all so far. Comments are welcome!

Oh yeah...one more question...for those who have put brand-new struts/springs on their car, how long did it take for everything to settle?

Looks great dude! Can't wait til I get my STS and boogers. How was the install? Oh yeah, your car is sexy as hell as always. Running out of things to say positive about it.

Thanks guys! The STS was SUPER easy to install...almost ripped my thumbnail off getting the boogers back off of the STS (cuz it came with them on and had to remove for installation), but it was a breeze.

Yeah, I'm running oversized tires in that pic. 205-55-16. Mine did settle an extra 0.5" over about 2-3 days after install

Anyways, your's looks so much better without dragging ass. Hot as always.

Ahhhhhhhhhh yesssssssss. I see you finally got the goods on. Very nice, very nice.

I figured you'd enjoy the STS. I love mine to death. And the springs/structs - I'd give them time of course, I'm sure they'll settle soon.

Cool, thanks guys for the compliments, even though it looks not so low anymore. I'm going to get an alignment tomorrow morning, and I'm gonna drive it as much as possible to help things settle.

Naw, I never ordered them. I would have, but I didnt know that the Tokico struts came with the mounting brackets...I thought I was gonna have to make some custom ones or buy them. So they are the next thing on my list when I get some play money.

just wait they will definitely settle. also it looks like the black r/t is running 205-55-16 which would be 1/2 closer to the fender than your tires. i bought the kazera springs and the hp suspension kit( struts & springs). u just made the decision on which springs i'm going to use, kazera all the way. no more looking like ur carrying bodies around in your trunk. Nice car

Ok, I'm sure they will settle a little. I just got an alignment today, so everything is done for now.
