Painted your intercooler

Hey Hey
Has anybody painted there intercooler and did it change anything as far a performance we want to paint ours black so it not see as easey keep the sleeper look??

topic was moved to forced induction since it is more of a turbo question...and if you paint the intercooler black i dont think you would really see many noticable gains (if any) other than it being more sleeper looking. if you do paint it make sure you use the right paint. usually they sell radiator paint and stuff at auto stores so that would be the one to go with. feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

my friend Wannasupra has his Intercooler Painted black., No loss in power.

depends on the size of the intercooler. if its stock size use radiator paint(specifically made to transfer heat) if its a biggie paint will make no difference in temperature output.

This is correct Painting an intercooler reduces its effective area. As mentioned if you do paint it make sure its paint intened for radiators. its thinner to reduce the lose of effective area.
