Swap - Radiator Fan will Not turn on.

Doing a SRT-4 Motor swap into your Neon, maybe even a 2.4... have questions about it, what you'll need or what issues you'll run into? Answers can be found in here.

Swap - Radiator Fan will Not turn on.

Post by hansken_yo » Tue Jun 12, 2007 11:45 pm

So i did the swap, and I got the connector that Steelybob said to use so that I could continue to use my 2.0L radiator and fan, but it won't turn on.

the adaptor I'm speaking of:

Yes... it is plugged in. :)

Any help I could get to solve this problem would be nice... my temps are ranging from 190-220 deg. - Stopped or Moving.

Thanks

Looks like the normal plug for the SRT for the SRT rad fans which it is after I just looked it up in the parts book.

I dunno why he would recommend using that... it's the standard wiring harness for the SRT fan setup :-?

Check your Coolant Temp sensor which is located by the T-Stat housing. Make sure it's plugged in...

well the engine bay wireharness has that 4 plug while my 2.0L radiator fan only has the 2 plug. so it does allow me to plug my radiator fan in. I'll look for that coolant temp sensor tomorrow... thanks.

Yeah, since you aren't using that harness. That harness is the same harness that comes on the SRT since the SRT uses a dual fan setup where as most 2nd gens are only single fan.

everything is plugged correctly... and the fuses are okay. Next time I drive it i'm going to take a volt meter to the plugs.

I do hear a clicking noise like it should turn on but just doesn't... hmm... anyone?

Try swapping to the other plug that would be used for the other fan?

soooo... the only thing that I changed today was the vacuum lines that I had confused over the whole missing the TIP sensor.... and well... the fan kicked on for the first time today... hmmm. Weird. I don't know if they are related, but regardless... the radiator fan is working again! Thanks for your help.
