Just heard from the shop that currently has the engine. They said they measured the cylinders and discovered that the block has never been bored.... WHAT THE FUCK?!

That doesn't make sense though, cause back when we test fit the pistons I checked the gaps on the rings and they were right on. I don't know who is trying to fuck me over any more.....

Measure them yourself! 87.5mm is stock, 88mm is .020 over. Do you have access to a bore gauge that you can borrow? Or at least go to the shop and make them show you.

Yeah after I cooled down a bit and came to my senses (a rigorous drive in the SRT) I thought of that. I will go there Monday and see it for myself. I will be pissed all over again either way though. In fact I'm getting pissed just thinking about it! Shit.

I don't want to think about this right now I'm going to bed lol.

So I was working on the exhaust install today, and while I was under the car I noticed a few things:

Image
Image

^ OIL coming off of intercooler cold pipe. Um... wtf?

Image
Image

^ Looks like drivers side wheel was rubbing quite a bit at one time.

Image
Image
Image
^ Some loose stuff

Back on the topic of the exhaust install, I've got the rear part off completely, but I'm having a hell of a time getting at the downpipe to install my 3". Any tips for getting the bolts loose back there? I'm trying to use a 10mm wrench but it's so small and there is so little torque. On top of that there is almost no good angle to work from.

use a 3/8 drive ratchet with a reducer to 1.4 inch or use a 3.8 inch 10mm socket with a long extension id recommend lifting the front of the car aways to reach the 4 of them
SRT-4 Swap into the 02, CAI, unorthodox UDP, turbo xs RFL BOV, Boomba solid MM, 3" downpipe

Oil on the cold side is normal when the car isn't running a catchcan. It collects on the cold side of the intercooler, quite nasty. Clean that up run a catch can and check valve and you will probably gain a pound of boost. I know I did.

Car could of been lowered at some point or cornered hard. Who knows.

Wix filter = great filter. :)

Boost leak test it. One of the first things you should do.

AJ isn't running front mesh on his E-blue. Thats why I made that comment.

As for the bolts. buy new ones, cut the old ones off. Makes it a ton easier. Whenver the main tech at my old job was doing exhaust work he just cut them off since they were always rusted and near impossible to tkae off.

Interesting. Well I will be doing a catchcan for sure in the near future then.

You want to come up some time and we can do a boost leak test and some stuff?

I had them show me but he used a digital caliper. If .020 over is 88mm something is wrong because the caliper read 88.77mm

You shouldn't have been able to fit overbore pistons in without boring. :?

That's what I'm saying. And the measurements last night suggest that it is TOO overbored. But they were saying there wasn't enough clearance and the piston was too tight.

Very nice! Sounds WAAAYYYY better in person. The audio was kind of muffled in a sense. Yeah the 02 housing install would of been a tongue biter.
