Oh yeah!! It's gonna be fun times. MPx said the turbo kit should arrive within 4 weeks (from a few days ago), and hopefully it won't take the engine shop that long to do what they need to do, and then we will be in business. It's bee a while since I looked through my "random parts bin", but I'm pretty sure I'm missing some additional "small" stuff- random hoses, lines, alternator (unless I can use my Neon one), oh yeah, and the engine wire harness... I'm pretty sure the one that came with it is shot.

Yeah I'm really excited and I can't take my mind off of it. I'm pretty nervous too though about running all the wires and hoses and lines, plus praying that it will all work together. I'm going to run Mega Squirt too, and having that much control over the engine is kind of scary because I don't want to accidentally destroy all this new expensive stuff. But I'm definitely ready to crack it open and start putting stuff in.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:Great news man!!! I bet you are thrilled!

I dunno. How does that work? What is all the buzz about?Canada wrote:So you're gonna bring it to Carlisle now right?
Update: I installed the bushings today. The ones I took off must have been installed by Christ himself because they were f***ing impossible to remove. Two screw drivers my ass. Three bloody knuckles and 2 cold hours (lots of warm up breaks) later and the job is done. It shifts like somebody poured cement down in the shifter, but from what I hear it will get better within a few days. Unfortunately I can no longer easily go into third, and I think I will be needing new cables. Ah well, that's another day. Hopefully a warmer one.

Update: So I'm currently trying to figure out a way to keep my SXT Engine Bay harness and use MegaSquirt to make it work with the SRT engine. I was examining my SRT Engine harness and it looks good with the exception of a few wires that are knicked or snipped. Hopefully I can repair it. Pictures of the harness coming soon.

actually he did, but the engine bay harness was a mangled mess... and I think there was some wires snipped, nipped, tucked, etc.

Yup. I coulda swore I posted that somewhere, but I can't find it. Yeah the engine BAY harness I got was chopped up like the victims out of a Hostel movie, whereas the ENGINE harness only has minor cuts that HOPEFULLY can be repaired.kc2002acr wrote:actually he did, but the engine bay harness was a mangled mess... and I think there was some wires snipped, nipped, tucked, etc.
I'm still workin on those pics btw.

ENGINE BAY HARNESS PICS!! Weeee

^totally chopped the hell off

^busted connector

Looks like I'll have to buy a new harness, but according to BRR the one from the 04 is only around $200. (http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?p=398176) I will soon find out if they are interchangeable.

Well I was bored and bought some Eibach Pro Street Coilovers today. I'm kind of mad that my car isn't one of the top 5 most money spent cars, cause it sure feels like it. Maybe I'll make it there some day. Install pics coming soon, weather providing. Oh and kc2002acr, MyNeonSaysHi, and anyone else is invited to help put them on.

Holy jimeny....your car is going to be awesome where you're done with it. Which version of MS are you going to use? Are you installing it right away when you do the main engine install?
I was wondering when someone was going to try out those Eibach coilovers....I'm interested to see how they do for you. And I still think you need some Rota RB wheels...they're just frickin cool, although a bit JDM. Maybe some slipstreams would fit your style better.

MPx for $999 + $36 shippingMyNeonSaysHi wrote:Awesome! Where did you get them at?
I really appreciate it man, makes me feel good when people say stuff like that. I take shit all day from people at work who criticize me for modding a Neon, and having nothing to show for it. Almost 90% of the 6 grand I've spent hasn't even gone in the car yet, and 0% of what has is go-fast parts... but oh boy the day all that stuff goes in, you better watch out!quicksilvr wrote:Holy jimeny....your car is going to be awesome where you're done with it. I do plan on getting rims, but those slipstreams are too small for my liking (15"), not to mention I have a thing against dark colored wheels- I think they are over-done on Neons. I want something original, I was thinking about getting Maxxim: Ahead wheels, but my gf is

Edit: I completely forgot to answer like 2 of your questions.
Version of MS: Haven't even looked into that yet. What do you recommend?
MS @ Engine swap: Oh hell yes.

Okay, so the coils got here today. Hella fast shipping! I was going to put them on but it was too cold out. Oh and I finally have a tracking number for the turbo, and it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow! I don't know wtf was going on when it was supposed to be delivered a few weeks ago.
