At least on mine they're actually part of the locking mechanism/latch assembly inside the door...

Does it only do it with one door or all of them?

Mine are on the frame of the car kinda hard to explain..with the rear door closed and front open..look near the rear door hinge on the inside of the front door...the is like a little black nipple that sticks out next to the silver loop the the front door latch grabs..i just unscrewed the little screw there and let it sit there by it self and it doesnt stay on. Tho...It wont even turn on anymore when you open whichever door you do this to.

I thought the door had little "nipple"-like things that the door shut into to, those go bad after mucho use, at least in my experience, yet I have never checked ona neon :tardbang:

I had the same problem and it was just the door switch that was mentioned above. It cost a couple bux and only takes a min. to replace.

I had the same problem. It was on the rear passenger side. It was the little thing that sticks out a lil at the back of the door jam. I just got another 1 from the junk yard and plugged it in and it worked.
The 1 that was broke that I removed looked kinda rusted and worn.
