REX Motor Mount Inserts

Post by 0dd3n » Sat May 07, 2005 3:49 pm

Do any of you guys have the Rex motor mount inserts? I just got mine in last night after a lot of trouble and the help of a dremel tool, anyway; I got em' in and now at the top ends of 1st and 2nd gear and sometimes in 3rd, i hear what sounds like a grinding noise or a thumping like sound. They have really helped with the throttle response though.

The noise im hearin reminds me of when my motor mounts on my oldsmobile about a year and a half ago went out and it was making a grinding noise

if anyone else has these, tell me your experience and if theyre even worth it, they were only 30 bucks

I HAD them before I upgraded to Deyeme mounts. Not sure about your grinding or thumping noise? Does it happen when you take off slowly or only while you are really on the gas?

And... ummm... dremel? You should have had to grind anything down, the should fit in the mounts very tight, if you ground too much off they could come loose and fall out. Or they could be shifting when your under goes under load making the thumping noise.
