they were haveing an event called cars for kids and at the end of the event they have a parade. at the end of the parade they have pro-mod cars do 20ft burn outs. well this driver tried to show off a lil bit more and got onto it to long got the car side ways and slamed into a crowd injurying 15 people, killing 6. the driver should of known what was going to happen and the event staff should of been better prepaird for such actions just in case. my pryers go out to the familes..like i always say. stupidty kills

I saw this the other day on the news. Sad story, my prayers go out to the families involved.

That sucks... this could have been prevented if they even attempted to take safty precautions, Concrete barricades or something. I didn't see anything along the street other than a line of people. Very unfortunate event.

apparently there were barricades in the area that the burnout was supposed to be. but they didnt anticipate him going that far.

all the drivers were told to do a 20 ft burn out and let off. i wouldnt think they would have PRO DRAG CARS racing on the street with bystanders there. this incident shows that there is something called to much power for the street

I saw this on another forum. Its absolutley insane to have bystanders that close and no retaining walls! I wonder if people really were thinking about the risk?!?

There's no way that was a drag race. you couldn't pedal that car and get traction on an untreated street. I only watched the video once, but i didn't notice any kind of barricades around the cars, even where they were starting the burnouts at. I feel for the families, and the charity event. there will probably never be another one, and the charity is more than likely going to get sued out the ass for public endangerment, wrongful death, and whatever else even a crappy lawyer can come up with. i doubt all those people signed a waiver of liability before entering the show grounds. The race team is probably also going to be slammed with lawsuits. I doubt the driver will ever step foot in a drag car again. I know i wouldn't be able to, knowing my stupidity put 21 people in the morgue or hospital.

what would of been a good idea is at least but cement baricades around the car incase we went to far and would slam into them . but thats the first year that has happend. sad that the event cordinators could of thought it out a lil more rather then well we will be fine nothing is going to happen

Money can buy fast cars. But it can't buy experience, or common sense. 100% drivers fault for being a jackass, IMO. If I was the driver there's no way I could live with the guilt, it'd be absolutely terrible.
