i was at his house for band practice, and none of us heard it fall, so i guess it happened either while we were asleep or while were playing, idk.

i dont know much about insurance, but im hoping homeowner's insurance will cover my $500 deductible?

if it wont cover your $500 deductable look into getting used glass from a slavage yard....most places will take the glass out and package it for you for less than $500....but damn man that sucks

I don't know who your provider is or how much coverage you have, but they may fully cover window replacements. Happened to me, just a little nic in the front winshield they replaced the whole thing. I have State Farm.

That's how it goes, though. I'm sure the wind and rain the night before weakened the branch (or tree) that fell. We just had a fire call here a couple weeks ago and something very similar happened. A very large branch fell onto some primary power lines and you could tell the damage was caused over a couple months ago but the storms the day before helped weaken it more.

That sucks. But the window wouldn't be the first thing I would worry about, it's structural damage.

Exactly. And considering it's an act of nature, your boy's insurance premium might not go up. Hopefully, the tree is in his neighbor's yard lol. Then it's their responsibility.

Make sure you sit down and think carefully exactly what color you want your car repainted! Fresh paint FTW. You should also be able to get the work done at any shop you want, not just recommended shops from the insurance company (IDK if homeowners insurance has preferred shops lol).

so i just found out that he lost his homeowner's insurance recently.... apparently allstate or whoever dropped homeowner's insurance from their policy or something. so i still have that deductible to cover, but hes offering to pay me for it.

:laughing3: even if you go through your insurance, it shouldn't go up. like wenuden said "act of nature". by the way, your friend is offering to pay your deductable because technically you can start a law suit against him (the homeowner) and they would loose and be responsable for the total damage.

yeah, i know i could drag it to court somewhere, but ill just take care of it and let him pay me when he can. we're both going through a tight spot, so theres no sense in screwing us both over with court fee b.s.

yeah if he is willing to pay no need to involve the courts but that does suck, I thought i had crappy luck.
