Post by soccerdanno » Fri Jun 29, 2007 9:46 am

Can you guys/gals tell me your impressions on the quality of e-bay shorty antenna's like this one;

Fit? Function?

Thank you.

That one is ugly. There are better/shorter ones on eBay. I got a real nice one and its only like two or three inches. I still get great reception.

I got a black one off from ebay and the one or two times that I used it, it worked as good as the factory one

I'm the direct opposite. I think that antenna still keeps the OEM look and doesn't look like some little nub sticking out of the fender. :lol: I think it looks good. I'm going to be chopping my stock antenna sometime, too. I don't use the radio anymore so the quality won't bother me, really.

You can make that with your stock one. Take vise grips and remove the ball from the end. Cut your antenna to the length you want. Then grind the tip to a point and pound the ball back on.

I tried to do that last week, but didn't have anything strong enough to cut the antenna. That's some strong steel, buddy! :shock:

I tried three different pairs of wire cutters I own... All three pairs are ruined now - They look like wire strippers now. :lol: Oooooh. I forgot I bought a hacksaw a few days ago, though for building my camera mount. :twisted: I know what I'm doing tomorrow. :D
