Clicking Noise From Stock CD Player?

Just bought my '03 SXT about a month ago and it STILL has the stock CD player in it... Well, every once in a while, when I shut the car off after listening to a CD, it makes a horrendous clicking noise that sounds as though it's gobbling up my CD. It'll do it for a few seconds after the car shuts off... Is this normal? Sometimes the clicking lasts longer than other times... Kinda' weird. Help?

No that is not normal... Have it checked by the dealer if still under warranty.. If not, and its not eating you cds deal with it as musch as you can then buy and after market stereo.. Since you just bought it a month ago just get it checked.

I get this when shutting down and starting up with a cd in the cd player, its annoying but I don't think its causing any damage.

But i don't think its normal either...

Just got it a month ago AS-IS. Doh. It's not actually eating my CD's, just sounds like it. I plan on replacing it with an aftermarket Clairion deck soon since I have 3 JL's screaming to get in the trunk, but do not wanna' hook 'em up to the stock deck. Anybody else ever have the clicking issue?
