dude you live in AZ. It's a ways out to huntington beach (I should know, I'm in phoenix).
Anyways, welcome Shera. You'll find that as you get to know your car, repairs and simple maintainence will get much cheaper, and you can spend the money you save on mods. There are alot of low buck things that won't necessarily make your car fast, but make it alot more fun to drive. Do thorough research before buying anything. I reccomend starting with suspension mods. For under $500 you can basically make your car handle like a dream, and since you're in cali, you won't be breaking any silly emissions laws. You don't have to spend that $500 all at once. You'll also find that as you learn more about the way engines work (assuming you're not already a master....ehh...mistress? mechanic), well, your physical therapy knowledge will come in handy with car work and vice versa. Having that innate sense of the way physical objects interact is priceless.

I'm definitely new to this whole forum thing, but it's fantastic! I have a ton of questions and ideas about what I'd love to do with my car, but with a limited college students income, its rough, so if anyone has any ideas, please please please let me know!!
