Tire Sizes...

Post by jtrain » Wed May 11, 2005 8:00 pm

I just got some 17x7.5 rims, and was just wondering if anyone could tell me what size tire would be the best to put on them.

215/40-17's would probably be best on those.

I really depends on what brand of tire also though. These were my rims, but he just bought them off me. If you run Kuhmo tires in 205/40 they will fill out the rims fine, if you run Falkens you will want to go to a 215/40. I personally like Falken tires better, Kuhmo's only have a single ply sidewall and tend to bubble and have to be replaced. Kuhmo always seems to have a little wider tread and Falken always seems to have a narrower tread (accept in the Azenis 215's, the 615's aren't as wide). But there are plenty of tire brands to choose from.

I'm just talking from the kind of tires I have used. I just happen to like Falken tires. I don't think I would buy Kuhmo tires in 40 series again with how much they bubble from only having single ply sidewalls.
