P0300 code ???

heres the deal i was on my to drop my buddy off at his house, and my cel light popped on, checked all the normal things and finally go around to pulling the code out of the on board diag built into the car, and pulled a p0300 code, multi cylinder mis-fire. no this might be a stupid question, i know with the nissans we have to replace the head gasket, don't know if chrysler products are different, just looking for some insight, :banghead: or could it be the coil pack, needs to be changed out,

Its possible that it could be the coil. I know that I changed mine when I got that code, and I changed the coil and it went away. On my friends R/T he had that code and turned out that somehow his timing was off. good luck

Its telling you that mutiple cylinders are misfiring not just one. So that should rule out plugs and wires. Its most likely either your coil (~$100 at advance for an OE one so just go aftermarket for cheaper) or you got some bad gas. Put some good fuel system cleaner in there, clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does then I would change the coil. Your saying it just popped up almost out of nowhere, meaning you most likely didnt feel it missing. If it was your timing then it would be doing it every time around so you would end up feeling it. hope it helps and good luck!

with a p0300 the quick things to check would be the plugs and wires. then check the injectors.
the fun part about diag on a p0300 is that it could be anything from
plugs to wires to injectors to inturnal part failure.
question whats the mileage on the car?

50500 the wires were replaced about 7 months ago, and plugs about the same time..

but its weird, i left my apt, and went to my parents house before i got there i got some gas an then drove around a little afterward and then it popped on, i checked the exhaust to see if antifreeze was coming out of it, there isn't any, i pulled the wires while it was running to check the sparking, seems to be good, i think i may have gotten some crappy gas or stale gas.. i am gonna try some injector cleaner and maybe some octane booster and see if it cures it

Where you getting on it? Do you have a UDP? I know my 02 does it, but that is because of the stupid 02 ECU.

i have a udp but its not installed yet, i jump on it and it seems like it has all its power, it shakes slightly at idle, but idles smooth around between 900-1000rpms, i have aftermarket gauges so it sits generally around 1000rpms at idle. went to pep boys got a qoute on a coil 74 dollars, put some injector cleaner and octane booster in it, i am going to drive it around alittle , later on... hopefully it is just bad gas.

i also pulled all the wires while it was running to check to see if the engine idle and rpm drops when you remove one of the wires off the plugs, all of them affect the rpm so i also ruling out the coil.

go get a gallon of race gas, 100. it will help bring up the ocatane rating a little to prevent misfiring till you can get some different gas.

the code is stored in the ecu and will reset after 100 key cycles with no fails.so its pos the your car is running fine and its not missing at all as of right now. its pos that you did get some bad gas, was the tanker there when you got gas? or did you get cheep gas? if the problem continues go to the dealer and pay 100 for them to diag the consern but then fix it your self after they tell you whats wrong.

its weird it wasn't running rough before but now i am starting to notice it more and more at idle is when i feel it, and you can hear it in the exhaust poping every now and then, i am just gonna take it to dodge down here and see whats up with it.
