remove it from where you have it ran thru the car now, and reroute it somewhere else. maybe swap sides with the RCA's. In my old t-bird, the install shop ran my rca's under my center console, under the carpet in the rear seat area, directly into my trunk, and it worked great. I had a similar problem (white noise), they said it was the power wire location, they ran the power wire down the other side, did what they did with the rca's, relocated the ground point in the trunk and all was ok. A little more info on the wattage of the amp would be helpful, 8Ga from what i remember is only supposed to be used on 600W or less, 4Ga for 600-1000 and 2 or 0 (huge!!!!) for anything over 1oooW is what my shop recommended to me when i got the bird done.

ok i got the wire from an audio sales place...and on the wire it said oxygen free...now i know that air is a good insulator but since that wire is oxygen free...couldnt that let all kinds of "noise" get to it easier?

that oxygen free thing on wiring i heard is just for sales or something along those line...

for future reference always keep the ground & power wires the same gauge, the only times when its better to have bigger wires is if the ground is bigger than the power, not the other way around.
