Stereo Install Question

Post by LCPLPunk » Sun May 15, 2005 2:26 pm

I have an Alpine stereo that i took out of my truck and i want to put it into my Neon. I have all the cables that came with the stereo, but i'm wondering, what will i need to put it into my Neon? The Neon had it's stereo removed so all that is there is a hole. Anyone know how to make the conversion?

Thanks in advance!

And, i should know this, but what are the speaker sizes for the front speakers?

Is the connector still in the neon, or is it bare wires? If the connector is still there, you can buy an adapter to go from the neon's wiring to your head unit.
If there's just wires, you will have to wire it up yourself, for a wiring diagram and other info check out http://www.the12volt.com
Stock speaker sizes are 3.5" in the dash, 6.5" in the door, 6x9" in the rear deck

What he said. And you will also need a antenna adaptor, everything can be found at walmart. I just orderd my stuff from www.cardomain.com $28 for installation kit, wiring harness, and antenna adaptor.

While the dash is 3.5", the mounting depth sucks. Better off going with a 2.5" or smaller for the dash. The doors are 6.75" and can be adapted to 7" with a custom MDF ring.

Or just buy componets and put the tweeter in the dash and then the woofer in the door. It will sound better.
