rear brake queastion

rear brake queastion

ok this may sound stupid but i cant seem to do this. how do you get that lil silver cone shaped thing off of the brake assembly so u can take off the hub? i got the caliper off and the ebrake pads but cant get that damn spindle off so i can change my ebrake line. them silver cap things that cover the bolt just wont come off. is there a speical way to do this?

You mean the dust cap? (item 7 in the figure below)

It's just pressed in. Use a sharp screwdriver or chisel and tap around the circumference of it to work it out.

yea that thing! stupid thing is like rusted in there i thought it was glued...i hit it with a hammer used a screw driver and a pair of plires but damn thing dosnt want to come out...

hmmm i had a mini pry bar on there but it wouldnt catch the lip on the cover maybe my air hammer haha
