Help with paint!

Post by neonsxt0486 » Sun May 15, 2005 7:58 pm

Well i backed up to close to my garage door today and parked. I went out later to check my tire pressure and when I went to open the garage door it wouldnt open. It got half way and stopped. I tried that about 5 times. Then my dad tried to pry it open and that didnt work. Then he asked how close i parked to the door. CRAP. I went out let my car roll down the driveway and checked for damage. The garage door handle caught the back bumper and scratched it up pretty good. Where the door was sitting rubbed a spot in my back bumper strait to the black urethane underneath. My question.. can I fix this with touch up paint or am I gonna have to go professional. Any paint expert help would be nice. Im heart broken now!

Ouch. Sounds like you might want to take it to a professional unless you wanna' play with a little Bondo and blending paint. Sounds like you might need to do both. It actually made grooves in the urethane bumper?

i would take it to a professional, IMO. sounds like it will def. need bondo and blending the paint. usually with touch up paint, if you just stick the paint on there, you can tell, even if it is the same shade.

but then, this is coming from someone who takes thier car to a body shop for even minor cracks and scratches to have them fixed.
