Custom Air Cleaner Install Questions

Hi everyone,

I have done some searching and I think I have pieced together all the info I needed, but I wanted to get it all in to one thread and get some feedback on my install ideas.

Here is some background on my project;
I have a top of the line air cleaner which I received for "field testing" from the company I work for. It is basically a can with a very nice filter in it. I want to install it in place of my current air cleaner/air box

In order to install it I will have to remove my air box. There is a port on the left side of the stock airbox that has a tube connecting to it. Is this a vaccuum hose? When I install my custom air cleaner should I put a small breather filter on the end of the vacuum hose? Where would I get a small filter like this?

Also, there is a temperature sensor on the right side of the air box connected to the elbow. Do I just need to keep this sensor in the air stream for proper function?

Are there any other connections that I am not covering?

Please feel free to post your thoughts, puctures, and any advice you can give for my install of this custom air cleaner. I will add more information as it is available.

The tube on the side of the air-box, just needs to receive fresh air, its part of the pcv system, so like you said, just get a small filter for that, you can pick em up for next to nothing on eBay or at most parts stores. The temperature sensor in the elbow just needs to be in the stream of air going into the intake, so the engine can mix fuel accordingly.

Other then maybe mounting the filter so it doesn't move around too much, you might want to figure out some kind of mount or strap to hold it in place, just a thought.. Otherwise sounds like your good to go! post some pics when you finish your project.
