H&R or Tokico Springs?

Post by tommigun » Wed Jul 18, 2007 5:36 pm

Hey guys. I've been thinking about lowering my -02 Neon and I'm currently between either brand new H&R springs or Tokico Springs with about 1400 miles on them. Which one would you guys recommend? I basically want to eliminate the "offroad" look I have right now without lowering the car too much and maybe improve the ride some. So far the only reason I'm considering those used Tokicos is that I could get them 100€ cheaper and everybody's complimenting Tokico Struts. The only drawback so far on the Tokico's is that they don't come with a TÜV certificate so I'd have to remove them once a year to keep my plates unless cops get to interested on them. Are H&R's really worth the 100€ or should I go with the "better" offer?

Thanks in advance.

Get the H&R which I am told are very similar to my Vogtland (Told Vogtland is part of H&R now Not sure myself just told) and they are great. The have not settled at all. The TÜV cert and not having to swap them out every year would be worth the difference on their own.

Either should do fine and I think you'd enjoy the H&R stuff alot.

Because you have them. :D

I had tokicos and I loved em... The stock springs are made by Tokico by the way.

I had the tokicos, they were nice, but the drop seemed quite a bit more drastic than they claimed. Ride wasn't bad though.

Oookay. Still not sure which way to go. The seller of the Tokicos said his car did pass the yearly inspections with the springs so the TÜV-certificate isn't that big of a problem. 100€ is a big chunk of cash and I could almost get a better muffler with that money. Oh and better yet to confuse me even more, the guys at a Finnish site recommended Weitec -springs. They are said to have good value for money, but I'm not too convinced with them as they are a cheapo version of KW's springs and as I couldn't find a single picture of a Neon with them.

So far I'm pretty much sold with H&R but are there any more opinions out there? Oh, and I've been thinking about KYB struts since Tokicos are rather hard to get here so should that make any difference?
