Kick ass man.. I'm glad you are up and running. I'm sure the significant other is happy also.. She mad about the oil spot?? LOL.. Looks good man.. Have some problems running the vid but I'm sure it sounds good.. Let us know what your impression are when you take it out for a drive.. Still ATX right?
Got the audio, what was it doing after the rev up. Sounded like your idel was going up and down for a few before it came all the way down.

Yeah the SO is very happy. She was afraid that it was gonna turn into aneverendingproject. I wouldn't call it just an oil spot, more on the Exxon Valdez scale of things. Didn't realize that there was still oil in the old filter, and the K frame, and axle did a number on it while getting the engine into proper position. Yup still an ATX. Yeah the idle since I put a Magnum intake on the old engine always did that in park or neutral after revving the engine. Doesn't do it when in gear though, so I'm not gonna worry about it. As for the feel.. well it feels almost like the old motor when on the squeeze. When I get a chance I'll get down to E-Town and get some slips. I think I'll be in the 15's when gassing. But the difference is like night and day. As for spankage.. made a Cobalt SS work for his win.

why changing the entire block?, arent they identical to the regular sohc engine?
BTW what year that engine is? does it have the big cam or the advanced timing ecu.

Wrist pin let loose on #3. Nope the Magnum has specially coated pistons and cylinder walls. I also believe the pistons are different as well. Hell things have to be different, the block is even stamped with a R/T on the side of it, as well as the head. It's an 01 going into an 01. It has the Magnum cam, an AEM Cam Gear, and an AF/X PCM.Baal wrote:why changing the entire block?, arent they identical to the regular sohc engine?

BTW when I mash the GO pedal, massive torque steer. Never had that before...

Yep nothing critical in the difference of blocks, it would be easier and cheaper to swap the head+manifolds (the only problem would be that the secondaries wouldnt work).
Anyway good thing you have the 2001cam since they got smaller in 2002+ and dodge advanced the ecu timing to keep the 150hps (as far as i know)
