amp wireing problem i believe. need input from anyone
ok my little cuz went to pep boys today and bought a 12 1000w digital audio sub. i had an extra box and amp. amp is a 400W v-power alpine amp Monoblock. wireing existed already for amp so we hooked that up and when we turn the car on and the radio kicks on amp also kicks on for a second and then light dims out and shuts off so i kinda made a switch from the remote side and the power side of the amp. i connected the remote and battery lead from amp to a switch for an automatic kick on and off. after i did that the amp works but whe nwe turn it up just the slightest amp cuts out when bass hits. i think it might be the amp wireing that exists in the car now or his POS cd player. anyone have any other suggestions on what it might be.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm why?
the remote lead (blue wire) goes to the head unit for "automatic kick on and off", you dont need to be adding switches to anything.
i'd say check your ground wire make sure its got a good connection to metal... but if it works a little until there is some bass it kinda sounds like a power issue.. maybe the line from the battery or the amp is fried

whew... good, not to be giving you lectures or anything, but since I am going to be a teacher, I will anyway.
Always make sure you hook up the proper guage wire and run everything like you are supposed to when installing electrical components in a car! Why? Our cars thrive on electricity, and you could really screw something up if done wrong.
