Why do I listen to people in the first place?

Post by TeckNeon » Sat Aug 04, 2007 11:58 am

After months and months of peer pressure, I gave in today and made up a MySpace page. It's totally ghey. I have like 2 photos and literally no use for it whatsoever. Apparently I signed up for it back in early 2005 (prolly just to view someone's page and laugh the close it) but today I went through the motions and filled out all the info and stuff. It's like an online dating profile, I swear.

What is the appeal? I just dont' get it. Yeah, I can share pics with my friends and such. But the mundane bullshit people put on there is so tired! Sparkley this and "fill out this survey" that. And it's an ad whore too. I don't have a cool background or awesome fonts or anything like that yet. I will prolly add them later after this bitterness wears off.

Anyone else just not get it? Or am I getting bitchy in my old age?

Myspace is basically a forum for friends. Its like 2gn but not only for car guys. You can talk to friends, listen to music, and post funny vids; basically the same thing. :D

:withstupid:

And it works, too.

Anyways, I was on there since the first week, when nobody knew what the hell it was. Anyways, it's a community, like this one, but not limited to just cars. I've made some good friends from there who I've hung out with in groups in real life. It's not just for nerds. And some of my real-life friends from as far back as high school have signed up and keep in touch with me there.

And like J-Villa says, I've hammered more ham than a butcher in a farmer's market thanks to the internet and sites like Myspace. There's so many dumbf**k guys that DON'T know what to say to gals (and always say what they SHOULDN'T) that as long as you get to know them a lil and be respectful, lots of these gals are more than eager to make a connection.

Call me a whore, but it's truth. There's so many guy idiots trying to hit up chix, if you look decent or better and don't piss them off, you will score ass and maybe even end up with a relationship (I've had that happen, too).

And yes, it's also a great way to showcase music you like, artwork, writings, interests, other friends, etc.

Here's mine for the curious:

I like myspace, I mean the majority of ppl that I talk to on there are ppl that I used to go to school with or ppl who I lost contact with after I moved and even family, and since all my family is out of state that helps me keep in contact with them. Granted there are tons of problems with it, but its not all that bad. I mean look at the bright side slowy it will begin to consume your life... soon you will be checking it multiple times a day, and adding ppl like FORBIDDEN and TILA TEQUILA and random girls that you will never once meet in your life. ahh the glories of myspace...

I hate that damn place. I never really liked it and have really no reason to get on there unless someone sends me a friend request, then I get on, see who it is, accept or deny then get back off. I never understood the website when you can just as easily call, txt, or shoot someone an e-mail if you wanted to talk to your friends.
