Should never have doubted you guys!

so a while back i made a post about an electrical problem with my head-lights. here is the old link: http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=20073&highlight=

anyway, i ignored the advice, cause i thought it was overkill to butcher a remanufactured column and replace all the wiring harness and the multi-function, especially since the probelm was on and off, i didnt think it was that bad. BIG MISTAKE!

so i took it to my mechanic. $300 later in electrical repairs, i have headlights. and guess what?? they had to replace every wire and warness plus the switch cause the shitty ....ing dodge harness melted and took half the wires with it.

i admit it. iv'e been retarded to not follow the $50 answer i got before. :cussing:

I think that it is admirable that you admit to ignoring the advice. Sorry that this cost you the bucks but a lot of guys wouldn't step up to the plate like you have.

well, i am not into admitting my mistake. this is, most importantly, a warning:

LISTEN TO THE OTHER 2GN guys!!!!!

Not to rub it in or anything but this is a real common problem. Look through any threads having to do with the MFS and 9 times out of 10 somebody will mention this problem.

i have heard it is a common problem. my mechanic commented that the fact Dodge even offers a replacement harness/wiring kit means they KNOW about the problem. isnt this what recalls are for??

I miss my neon at times. She treated me well and taught me a lot about cars in general. I will always have a special place in my heart for these cars. Heres to the 2gn community.

Go here and search for NHTSA Action Numbers PE06028 and EA06019. There is currently an investigation. Be sure to file a complaint while there.

It's interesting to read the documents presented by DC in the "document search" area of each investigation of it.
