Which Grade Gas do you use?

Post by kplaya186 » Sun Aug 12, 2007 11:44 am

I was just wondering what everyone was running in their cars? I am using 89 currently in my car, but when prices get too high I go back to 87.

What is everyone else using?

93 for my R/T. They do not sell 91 around here. When prices start to rise, I will be using 89 though.

I hate you guys. The highest pump gas here is 91. That's what goes in the srt. For the sxt we put 87 octane.

Here in Finland lowest we have is 95 but I'm running 98 since I get better gas mileage with it and my car seems to like it better. Makes up for the 0,1€ difference in price.

Chevron 87 proof (with Techron baby)!
Tried running higher octane but it seems to run best on 87.

93 or 100 Depends on what I'm doing

I don't care about the price of gas, I need it and if it really came down to it I would eat out at restaurant one less time a month to make up the difference. Considering that 93 is $2.97 a gallon and 87 is $2.77, Thats an extra $0.20 every gallon or 2bucks every tank. I think I'll manage.

Same as Mox

I run it in both of my cars and the SRT gets 100 every now and then. The extra 2 dollars a tank doesn't scare me. Though premimum is recommended in both cars so I wouldn't put in less.

91, there's no 93 in AZ.
I get knock with 87, and it just seems to play nicer with 91 (it does get bloody hot here)
Bear in mind I also have an upgraded camshaft and apparently anything more than stock likes a bit more octane.

The middle grade is a waste of money. Its the left over when separating the high octaine from the regular. I learned all about this from an instructor in school who had done a study on gasoline via his friend who runs one of the major companies.

BP or Shell premium (I forget the octane rating) for the SRT. I did have to use Exxon while I was in PA during FTWNeon's convoy to Carlisle- that was a first.

87 octane. Right now gas is 91.0 cents per litre, and thats canadian. The 94 octane at sonoco is 108.0 per litre. 91.0 is actually rediculusly low for here in summer.. last summer it was 1.20/L for regular 87 octane.
