but so far i have seen pics of the srt4 wheels you bought and now your rt muffler.
i want to see pics of your car ...... with the stuff already in it
Thats the problem, I'm so damn lazy that they arent even on the car. They will be on this weekend though. Ill post pics on saturday or sunday so everyone can see. I dont have too many pics of my car as it is because its just plain stock right now besides the srt spoiler. Theres nothing there that you cant see on the road with any other neon or by going to the doge site.
LOL when i add the muffler ill post them!03sxt wrote:Where's the pics??
i have a slightly serious problem now. I would really appreciate any feedback i get on this. The R/T muffler has the collar and bolt that hold it onto the existing exhaust setup on the neon. However, the bolt is extremely rusty and wont budge at all. I need to know if the stock muffler has the same bolt as the R/T muffler. The only thing i can think of doing at the moment is cutting the rusty bolt off and using the one thats on my sxt muffler.

yeah, i just did a better search and found that out. Searched on advance auto parts and hopefully found everything i need. When i go home ill get everything i need. I believe i need another clamp too.03sxt wrote:Yeah, providing you're not welding the setup on, you'll need something to connect the R/T exhaust piping to your stock piping. You'll need the reducer to slide inside the R/T setup piping and a few muffler clamps. Am I correct? Is this what you meant brr?
I assume this will push the tips out farther correct? Dont really know how this sets up but i guess ill figure that out when i get to it.

FYI, don't get the adapter from DCx, they'll rape you on the price b/c it's about $20 from them when you can just go to an autoparts store and pick one up for under $5brr wrote:like I said, the r/t pipe is bigger than the SXT. You need a reducer or an adapter. Chrysler offered one with the R/T muffler when installing on a non R/T....i dont remember the part number though....

i bought one for $2.28
however now i have another problem. I see there is a plastic bracket holding the muffler and i dont see any way of just pushing it put. How do i remove the stock muffler from these plastic brackets? Thanks again for all the help you guys are giving me. Im really a n00b to adding mods to cars.

First use a heat gun or hairdrier to soften the rubber
Second use a lubricant to soak the area and make it slippery...
Third just insert a screwdirver or a pic of some type and pry the rubber over the nipple at the end of the mount..using the nipple as some sort of leverage to pry against...
Everything should just slide off then, if you dont use the above method...grab your muffler and use all your body weight to stretch the runner hanger out and while you are doing that, at the same time try to slide the rubber off the hanger...its a bitch but the rubber wont break.
My 03 SXT came apart like cakework...My 02 R/T was a bitch, especially trying to remove the stock muffler...even heating it, it was a PITA.

hmm i dont have a heat gun here. Ill have to think of something to get this off. Right now i just ran into yet another problem LOL!
Looks like the bold and spacer are brutally rusted. I figured i would cut the bold and all would just slide out but thats not the case. The spacer wont come out. Even tried to chisel it out of place. Should i just use another carbide cutter and cut the muffler clamp off the exhaust and use one i bought from the auto shop or should i just try to cut the spacer?
kevin GP. out of curiousity, how much do you want for your piping?

those rubber mounts will just pull off. or at least they did on my 1st gen. shit, i didn't heat them up or anything. just pulled really fucking hard.
done it twice on my car, and once on a friend's 2000. they'll come off/go on, it just takes some work. no one said working on cars didn't take some elbow grease.
