It will bolt right up, use your neon axles, and enjoy the 3.94 transmission.

No sir OB, only export neons got the awesome 4.12 trans. The PT's got the 3.94 with the 81 5th. Anything up to 01 will work in your 01, 02 and later you have to change the bellhousing on the transmissions.

I love that PT transmission because it feels like an R/T, but you're not screaming on the highway.

NO!!! The export Neons got the 3.94... export PT's with the 1.6L got the 4.12. 2001 PT's got the same trans the 2gn r/t got.

There was a guy on the other neon site (Neons.org) that offered to sell me an R/T tranny. I blew mine up last week. I am getting a new NVT-350. Mine's gonna keep the 3.55 but it's getting that Ford 7.5 LSD s-spring mod to help with the one wheel peel problem. This is something you might look at. It works the same as a Phantom Grip (as neither the PG nor the S-Spring use clutches). It put pressure one the splined axle gears. It is supposed to be just enough to get 'em both spinning so when ya do a burnout, you get both tires spinning. The guys in the older TD cars have been using it for a while. I don't know how you ruined yous but this would be a neat little something to try a it only costs like $25. Also, you might wanna invest in some diff saver tabs. They hold that diff pin in in the event of a failure so it doesn't come crashing out through the case like mine did.

Look here (if the link works) http://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t ... hlight=buy and you'll see a guy offering his R/T trans for $400 or so.
