I have a couple small dents on my car, I DOUBT that will work do to how small they are. Looks like it would only work on a medium sized dent.

Maybe heat it up a little longer and use more canned air.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:+1tommigun wrote:I wonder how fresh the dents have to be for that to work. the smaller ones .. will have to be heated up a bit more yes ...
those are normally what i have used dry ice on (hail stone dents) ... and just let it sit in the summer sun (100 deg) ... for a bit then drop dry ice on each location .. and by that evening it is for the most part gone ...
for older dents it should work .. about the only thing is ... you have more of a chance of the paint cracking if it is older .. (depending on how the dent happened in the first place, the paint may already be damaged .. and popping it out quickly can cause the paint to crack) ...

Where can you get a can of that airduster/CO2? Will the spray that you use on the keyboard work?

Just did this last night and it didn't work on the small dents. Went to the big dent and it popped right out!!! Awesome!!!! With the small dents I've been searching the web and found that dry ice is the way to go with the dents that don't come out. WARNING!!! Use gloves or something to protect you fromt he CO2 spray!!! I got frost bite last night on one of my fingers. OUCH!

this is an amazing trick. I actually have a dent at the top of my door, i really want to try this over the weekend. i still am a bit skeptical that it will take the dent out. I'll have to take a pic of it and show you guys.
there is also freeze in a can. This may work to shock the metal back in place. I used to work at a aviation repair station. Mechanics would use this to press bushings and sleeves into areas with low spacing tolerances. There is also multiple freeze sprays for electronics. They are used to detect faulty solder joints and components with micro fractures.
Electronic brands include freeze-it and envi-ro-tech.

Worked on my large dent but not on my smaller ones. Try it. If it doesn't work then do like I"m going to do and use dry ice.

on the dry ice .. it works .. i have done it .. but on the dent .. if it is on a body line ... it won't budge .. you will have to press it out from the inside ...
if the dent is real small but deep (like from a bb gun) then there is a decent chance the dry ice either won't pull it out... or it will take several tries to get it completly out ...
on the 'freeze' cans ... they are the same basic thing as turning over a can of compressed air and using it ... but the 'freeze' cans cost a bit more in some cases ...
