subaru 2.5rs

Post by boostinss » Mon Aug 20, 2007 5:54 pm

so this guy has a 2000 subaru 2.5rs with a swapped 2004 Transmission into it, he has mods done to it and has a 16g turbo on it, he says it makes 270AWHP.

he offered to trade it for my neon
it has 20k on the transmission and 60k on body

What do you guys think of this car and how does it compare to lets say a SRT-4 in speed/quickness

Well It's not a Neon, sp there's at least 1,000,000,000 points towards it. :nana:

EDIT:
Oh woah woah woah I skipped over the part about trading the Neon for the Impreza, I'd be running far away from that. Absolutely no one is so dumb that they would give up something like that for a Neon if it where not already smurfed to hell.

IIRC the 2.5 Imprezas while they look better than anything Subbie has put out in awhile it was a pig. What worries me is why he slpped a turbo on the 2.5 instead putting the 2.2 that all the new WRX's have in it. I almost bought one instead of the neon only problem it was so slow and heavy you couldn't feel the road.

hmm :-k I do know that those flat fours are indestructable. Maybe he put the 2.5 in thinking the output would be the same as the STI. Im sorry but if he wanted to trade it for your neon, no offense but there is prolly something wrong with it IMO

He turbo'd a non-turbo engine. Right there. That's not something you want to get into unless you don't plan on keeping it long. Plus he wants to "trade". Why can't he sell it and use the cash to buy another SRT-4.

Yeah, AWD>FWD but other than that...no thanks to that deal. If you want an Impreza, I am 100% sure you can get a very fair price for your SRT privately and for trade in. All the newer Imprezas have the 2.5 engine stock now. It's a great car for the money but then again so it your SRT. Basically, if you want a Scooby, just buy a new one. Don't mess around with someone else's project (read: troubles).
