What to do what to do what to do...hmm..

so i change my mind 1000X a day

So i have about $1600.00 saved up right now and i am unsure what to do...

Choice 1: Keep saving and sell the neon and get an SRT evenutally
Choice 2: Drop the money into the Neon for go fast parts only
Choice 3: Save a little more and buy a SRT Engine + Transmission (my car is an auto right now)

Only problem is i dont have that much knowledge doing this kind of stuff so either i would have to take it to a shop or i can pay one of you nice people to do it for me

With 1600 could i make my neon over 200hp?

you could do a 2.0T -- save up a little and start buying things like the srt adapter, turbo, lines, fmic, piping, and megasquirt. You can safely run 200hp at about 8lbs of boost in your atx.

but JRM only hit like 197 through and auto with a 2.4T, or did he have it detuned?

i should of restated my question, i want to have a Manual Transmission Car...

would anyone offer to do an engine/trans swap for me, if anyone is interested let me know, would deffinetly give you some cash

yeah, he hit 199 through a manual tranny, and yeah that was with the 2.4T, but I bet he could have squeazed more power out if room allowed for bigger fmic, piping... it was a tight fit in there!!!

i know but i can save an extra 500 bucks, i see an engine on the SRT forums for 2000$ with a trans/axels/uncut harness

How many miles? If that is the case, I say do that then... I was thinking in the 4k range for motor and tranny axles, etc etc etc.

Save up for an SRT swap or an SRT.

Carmax will give you about 5-6k for your car. The best way is to take it in there for a quote. That will give you 7k for a down payment on a SRT. Payments would be roughly $250 a month and insurance for you would be $3000 or more a year. Which would be $250 a month. Now gas and other expences a month would be $150 depending on how much you drive. Plus since you live in Wisconsin you would need winter tires or a beater for the snow. So if you make roughly 1000 dollars a month that would be the way to go.
I would save a little more and put in the SRT motor if you are hell bent on going fast. Knowing a mechanic would be a good idea if you are not good around cars.

If not take the money and have fun with it...go to mexico with some friends or something.

I agree here, dont waste your money on your current neon if you want an srt4.
