Ive had a premier account for years, no issues...
Of course paypal gets 3% of sales, but you also get X% cash back bonus's on purchases....
Its nice getting things cheaper than what you pay for :D
For example:
Gas @ $3 a gallon, purchased with the premier card costs $2.95 a gallon maybe even less...

You can email them asking them to down grade your account. However, you are only given one chance. If you upgrade again, then you are stuck with a premier account.

it's free...they just get a percentage of incoming payments. Say I sell something on ebay for $200 I'll get $194 ish last time I checked. You only need a premier account if you plan on doing a few to a lot of transactions on paypal.

THis is why I have two accounts  One thats a standard account, and another thats a Premier. The basic account you can receive money for free and they dont' take anything, even if it's from someones paypal balance. However, if someone pays via CC you can only receive 5 a year before you have to upgrade to receive more or have the person send money from another source (paypal balance).

Once you upgrade they take a percentage out of EVERY transfer + $0.30. I personally don't like it and when someone sends me $5 for decals, thats just under $.50 and when the envelope costs money, plus since the postal rate went up this year, the thing costs about $1 to mail out then take out the PayPal fees... hardly anything left.
